Balquhidder Information

Scottish Highlands Balquhidder (from the Gaelic 'the farm in the back-lying country'), is a small village of about 200 inhabitants in a glen extending 9 miles west to mountainous terrain north of Loch Katrine and south of Ben More.

The village is located at the eastern end of Loch Voil. It is about 4 miles from Rosebank House and is a pleasant stroll along the cycle path from Strathyre. It was here that some of the exploits of Rob Roy took place. He is also buried here in the local church yard.
