Finding the right place can make or break your holiday. A poor choice could dash your dreams on your own doorstep. So, how do you make sure your expectations are met?

Were it not for its transport connections, there would probably be very little to the place. As it is, it remains an extremely small but busy village. There are a range of accommodation providers available, from the Ben More Lodge Hotel on the eastern outskirts of the village to the large and modern Youth Hostel near the railway station. Plus, of course, plenty of B&Bs, and campsites a few miles down Glen Dochart and in Tyndrum, and there are wooden wigwams for rent in Strath Fillan.

Get some inside advice. Ask someone who really knows the country and the areas you want to stay.
