I am not a food guide critic so I shall not be rating the restaurants and eating places merely giving a listing entry on the site for those who wish to be included.

I shall from time to time add to the list and may even make comments, but that is all.This page on eating out gives an overview of places to eat in the area.

For ease of use I've divided it up into types and I will be adding to the list as I review the various restaurants, cafes and takeaways in and around the town.

From 10.00am, the coffee shop caters for those in need of a simple, speedy light meal or snack. Come 5.30pm, the ambience changes and a bistro style menu is introduced. Open seven days a week, 11.00 a.m. till late serving food all day including morning coffee, lunch, Pre theatre and evening meals. This year we are also introducing Sunday Brunch which will feature a fixed menu and individual dishes served from 11.00 a.m. until 4.00.

This Pitlochry restaurant, together with its conservatory offers an intimate place to dine. Our outside seating area set on the banks of the river, are for warm summer nights when al fresco dining is idyllic.
All dishes are freshly prepared and cooked to order using fresh Scottish and local produce and our home grown herbs rhubarb and apples.

Comments: This Pitlochry restaurant restaurant opens daily from 9am serving a wide range of breakfast items. Featuring our Big and Wee traditional Scottish Breakfasts. Coffee, tea and a range of cakes and freshly baked pastries are served all day until 6pm. Our main menu is available all day with lunch time specials served from 12pm until 6pm and evening specials served till closure. Booking is not necessary however due to our increasing popularity it is advisable to book during the summer months.
During our summer months our courtyard bar is opened.

Garden Restaurant has tempting menus offer a selection of classic, hearty dishes, with the occasional cosmopolitan twist, making the most of Scotland’s rich natural larder.

Guests' favourites include the sumptuous local fish, lamb or game, all served with delicious fresh vegetables. Dishes such as the haggis tartlet or the Pigeon in Sherry Sauce encourage more adventurous palates. Our menu reflects a wealth of Scottish provender, including Orkney Herring, Arran Mustards and cheese from the Isle of Mull to name a few.

The menus combine the finest Scottish ingredients with the best of mediteranean hospitality, offering a unique mix of flavours, tastes and culture. All the food is freshly cooked when make your choice.

Teas, coffees, cakes & desserts are served from 10.30 each day. Lunch menu is served between 12noon and 3pm, Pre-Theatre and Early menu served 5.30pm to 6.45pm

A La Carte dinner menu is served from 5.30pm each evening, with the last order taken at 9.00pm

In dining we really come into our own. We believe you need to feel good to enjoy great food to the full - and you will certainly feel very much at home in our delightful country inn style atmsephere.

Our reputation locally and regionally is second to none and customers travel regularly from all over Highland Perthshire to meet and dine in the rather unique, rustic and friendly Pitlochry restaurant. There are no strangers here, only friends who have never met.

The Moulin has earned this considerable reputation for the quality of its cuisine with local diners and visitors from manycountries for many years now, as reflected by the many ongoing compliments in the press, and in our visitors’ book!

A café chocolate style menu has been introduced from 10am to 5pm, seven days a week, and from 6pm to 11.00pm they will offer an excellent bar meal menu, pizza’s and steaks in the bistro restaurant. The very special a la carte menu will be available from 7pm through to 10.00pm in the chic new surroundings of the boutique style restaurant.
