Visit Auchterarder

Visit Auchterarder would not be complete without exploring the Celtic chapels and Benedictine abbeys.

There are also Roman roads and Pictish forts. On the edge of the small village of Braco is the ancient ruins of the Ardoch Roman Camp, which guarded the approach to the Antonine Wall. Nearby on the Strathallan to Muthill road is the Tullibardine Chapel, a perfect example of a 15th century church building.

Don't miss the Auchterarder Heritage Museum in Glenruthven Mill, it not only explores the history of the village, but also has on display Scotland's only working textile steam engine. Gleneagles railway station nearby serves both the Gleneagles Hotel and Auchterarder which has its own 18-hole golf course. In addition to tourism, the town is now a centre for building, transport, agricultural engineering and personnel services.
