Visit Braco

You must visit Braco.

It offers a most unique feature of a freestanding Clock Tower, all that remains of the Free Church which was erected at the time of the disruption in 1843. It would appear that it was only the presence of the clock that saved the tower from destruction which is no doubt the reason the clock is still working today.

The Romans built a number of forts nearly 2000 years ago, including Ardoch, situated on the Crieff road, on the right hand side as you leave the village, connected by a line of watchtowers and fortlets across the southern edge of Perthshire. Near Braco is Tullibardine Chapel. This Collegiate Church was founded by Sir David Murray in 1445 and remains unaltered.
