I remember coming to Scotland with my family as a child, and staying at what I now believe was the Tummel Valley Holiday Park. I was about 10 years old. I'm now 34. I remember my Dad driving us all over the area, Mum making us scrumy packed lunches for when we stopped to see the view at Queens View, the surprise of finding a White castle (Blair Atholl) and coming very up close and personal with a beautiful Highland cow across a stone wall, one cold misty morning! I loved Scotland and always said I would return when I was older. I also remember going on a Cable car with my brother in the Cairngorms.
Well unfortunately I have lost my dear Dad to Pancreatic Cancer, so I would now like to drive the 8 or so hours, to Perthshire, with my husband and our 2 children ( Boy aged 5 and Girl aged 1)to remind myself how beautiful the area is, and to show our children a beautiful part of the world. Yes its a long way from Northamptonshire, but it's well worth the journey. I am now researching where to go and what to do etc. This site has proved very useful and thank you very much. I aim to return to Scotland in 2014.
Comments for Hoping to Return - will it bring back the memories?
